Horizons Girls Conference

2010/03/05

KatrinaKatrina joined LAUNCH a few months ago. Her connection? Another LAUNCHee, Anne, who had put on the fundraiser for International Justice Mission!

We’re excited to have Katrina on board, as she is coached by Sandy. Her dream is to put on a women’s “sisterhood” conference to encourage and inspire young girls in their identity and self-worth. The event is set for Saturday, May 1. Check out the details below.

Horizons Girls Conference will be a day of great worship sessions, thought-provoking drama presentations, interactive workshops, dinner, games and more for girls ages 13-18 (women older than 18 are welcome to come as leaders). Designed by girls, for girls, this conference will create an atmosphere of worship, teaching and encouragement that will provide opportunities to meet God where they need it most. Girls will leave with a new understanding of God’s perception of them as dearly loved and beautiful women, concrete ideas to change their world/school, greater confidence in their ability to share their own faith story, and an increased awareness of their true identity in Christ. Horizons Conference will be an unforgettable life-changing experience no girl will want to miss!

Who: Girls from Grades 8-12 (ages 13-18). Women older than 18 also welcome, though teaching will cater to younger age group.
When: Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at 3:30-9pm (doors open at 3pm)
Where: Unionville Alliance Church, 4898 16th Avenue, Markham
Cost: $5 before March 31; $10 before April 16; $12 at door
Keynote speaker: Anne Fleetwood
